Spring Mini's at the Cherry Blossoms
I love Spring....the glimpse of life, the colors, the warm day and cool nights, (my birthday...) just to name a few ;)
Every year I host a few rounds of mini sessions. In addition to my standard personal mini sessions, I also host fundraising sessions to staff at my school raise funds for various clubs. A little side note, if you aren't aware, I have been an art teacher for roughly 15 years and have taught art to middle schoolers as well as high school age kids. I am currently at the high school level and teach level 1 foundations of art up to honors and AP art. Ok, getting side tracked....back to the cherry blossoms!
Each spring there is a small window of time that the cherry blossoms bloom and give the most beautiful dance of pinks and soft greens. It truly is spectacular and I am so fortunate to live near various parks that these beauties occupy. This year I started with going to a standard location but had to quickly act on my feet and find a new location....I pulled up and not one tree was in bloom! Buds were there, but flowers? Nope! I was panicked but I did find an alternate location within a few minute drive that had trees in bloom (phew!). And do you know...the next day, literally THE NEXT DAY, another photographer posted she was there and the trees were in bloom! Talk about a fast change over! Although that doesn't surprise me...the window of time for the cherry blossoms is sooooo short!
So alas, here are some photos from the new spot I had to relocate to. I quite like the location and will most likely be back!

Five days after the sessions above, I went back to my standard location with a new slew of mini sessions. The trees were literally, PERFECT...like *chefs kiss* perfect. I was thrilled (and not having a mild panic attack like the few days before). These mini sessions were ones offered to coworkers. Each year, my fellow art co-worker turned dear friend, Colleen (whom some of you have had the chance to meet on gigs- as she has been assisting me for about a year now) and I open up sessions to raise funds for clubs we advise. And it never fails, each year we book up and receive such a positive outpouring of support. It's always nice to see staff outside of the building. To meet their families, see them in their element outside of being a teacher, counselor, mentor, etc. Even more heartwarming and satisfying when it's repeat families from the years prior. One thing I love about taking photos, is being able to watch families grow (physically, mentally, etc).
So enjoy these snippets from round 2 of cherry blossom mini's showcasing all those hard working educators out there!
