Fighting H.A.R.D Fundraiser

This year, my co-worker/friend and I held a fundraiser to raise some money for the Fighting H.A.R.D. Foundation (visit them here: https://www.fightinghardfoundation.org/). A little back story...The Crocker family started the Fighting H.A.R.D. foundation after learning their children had rare diseases (H.A.R.D.= Having A Rare Disease). The foundation helps support local families as well as children in not feeling so alone in a journey that can feel isolating. Both the Crocker girls graduated from Howell, where my friend and I work. We also have a Fighting H.A.R.D. club here at the school still and we wanted to do something to help. Two addition facts to go even deeper into a connection to the foundation/cause, the Crocker family are actually my husbands family and my brother has a rare disease. So this all this just felt right in wanting to help.

This year we were able to secure 2 dates at a local green house. The Herbary at Bear Creek (https://www.herbarybearcreek.com/) so generously offered us their space, at no cost, to raise as much as we could for the foundation. If you haven't been to the Herbary, I suggest you go! Such an adorable place. Not only is there a green house to shop in, but there is an additional store that sells so many garden themed/nature theme gifts, a cafe, and an outdoor nursery with a slew of plants to purchase. I ended up purchasing adorable earrings that are hand made from an artist in the mid west (I wish I could remember her name so I can link it! Stand by on that one....)

We booked the greenhouse for April as we were told it can get rather hot in there in May.....well It just so happened that we had a week of extreme heat and it landed right on our time in the greenhouse...so to say we were sweating was an understatement. Luckily all the families were ok with pivoting a little and having some photos taken outside as well as in the greenhouse.

So below is a snap shot into our first Fighting H.A.R.D photo fundraiser! Looking forward to making this a yearly thing and support locals! If this is something you may be interested in, follow me on Instagram (@Cwarephotos) where I announce when mini sessions are offered =)
