One thing I realize is how terrible I am with updating blogs....I have good intentions but you know, life gets in the way. And if you know me, you know that after being a mom, my second job is a full time art teacher. To say life can get pretty busy is an understatement. But regardless, I was looking through photos and realized I never posted about this session from September. So here we are.
This past September I was able to take photos of Caity and her family. Caity isn't a stranger to me. She's a fellow photographer whom I've had opportunities to shoot with and has helped me on sessions as well. She had this idea for a long time, that we were finally able to see to fruition. She lives in Seaside and frequents many places with her family. She wanted them documented as everyday adventures versus staged family photos (although we did plan some posed photos for good measure).
So here we go...I'm going to walk you through our day with where we started, where we went and how we ended. I hope you enjoy! And if this is something that interests you and your family, reach out! I'd love to make those visions come to life =)
Caity had told me that the steps leading to her front door played an important roll. Many occasions are photographed on those stairs....birthdays, first days of school....So it was crucial to start our adventures on those steps. Getting the whole gang together, including their family dog (who understood the assignment and posed perfectly for the photos!)
After getting all the formal photos done on the front steps, we made our way to the bay marina, where the family often takes sunset strolls, frolic in the water, and enjoy quality family time. This was where we got to let loose, have fun and get dirty. There was no need to look perfect, posed or always focused on the camera. I was able to capture those moments that we remember in our mind but so seldom capture.
As the sun set and the day came to a close we ended our evening with a sweet treat. What better way to unwind after a day of playing in the sun and the sand.
